I laid in bed hoping that I made the right decision. This life wasn't what I wanted, but I knew in order to make sure Maggie stayed safe from Dean and Seth, I had to do this. I'm not ready to give myself to Dean, but I am willing to see where this goes. I closed my eyes and let the sleep engulf me and take me off to the land of dreams. Julien's Manor Dean stood next to Julien. Dean finally had what he wanted, and he was willing to do whatever it took to keep her with him. Julien knew this all too well. He sired Dean and knew of his power, but he knew Dean wanted more than his beloved daughter. He wanted ultimate power. The kind of power that Julien possessed. "Well, she is finally with you, Dean. You gotten what you wanted." Julien said. "Have I really gotten what I wanted, Julien? She's only with me because of Maggie." Dean said. "Well, you did turn her best friend into a vampire. What did you expect her to do? Stand by and watch her be turned into a monster?" Julien said. "I gave Maggie the life she always wanted. A new life. She's enjoying it, you know." Dean said, with a sneer. "Dean, you are playing a game that you may not win. My daughter is more powerful than me or you. She will not let you turn Maggie into you. No matter what you think." Julien said. "See, that's where you're wrong, Julien. Come, Seth" Dean said. "What are you doing, Dean?" Julien asked. "Taking what is mine. Something you promised me." Dean said. "You see, Julien, LaKeisha needs a push. She needs to see that Dean is the only one she can lean on. Depend on. That she has no one but Dean." Seth said. "What do you plan on doing?" Julien asked. "Her mother is her only tie to the human world. Sever that tie, and she will have no choice to lose all of her humanity." Dean said. "Are you insane, Dean? Amanda is my one true love. Why would you do this to me? Why would you do this to LaKeisha?" Julien asked. "Because I will not have anyone or anything stand in my way of getting exactly what I want: my queen and your power." Dean said. "This is madness, Dean. Pure madness. I knew I should never sired you. You are too dangerous to the vampire world." Julien said. "Yet, you did, and here I am. You turned me into this monster, and now you must pay. Your daughter will be mine, Julien. You will not lift a finger to help her, to save her from me. You will sit by and watch me take over your daughter's heart, mind, body, and soul. Here the deal, Julien: you will take the blame for Amanda's untimely demise. You will not utter a simple word to anyone that I am behind it at all, or LaKeisha will end up losing not one parent, but two." Dean said. "What have I done?" Julien said, softly. "Do we have a deal, Julien?" Dean asked. "Yes, we do." Julien said, regretfully. Dean's Manor Maggie and Roman walked to my room knowing I would be sleeping soundly, but Maggie wanted to check on me. She was hoping that I hadn't given myself to Dean yet. "Look at her. She's like an angel." Roman said. "Really, Roman?" An angel?" Maggie said, jokingly. "She is my sister. I can say things like that." Roman said. "Well, I knew her before she knew about you, and she is no angel." Maggie said, with a laugh. "So what are you thinking?" Roman asked. "That's she not ready for this, Roman. Dean wants more than he's saying. I mean, I don't doubt that he loves her, but I feel that he has ulterior motives." Maggie said. "Are you thinking about why he turned you? Because it's quite clear why he did it." Roman said. "I know he did it to make LaKeisha come to him, and she's here now. Surrounded by maniacs and killers. This is not her life, Roman. She should be far away from all of this. There's too much at stake here." Maggie spoke. "Hey, look at me. I promise I won't let anything happen to her. If Dean has ulterior motives, then I will stop him. She is precious to me and to you, and as long as I live, she will always be protected by me." Roman said. Maggie looked at me. I was oblivious to what was going on. I was in my own world, and there were no vampires. Just peace and serenity. "You know you were right. She does look like an angel." Maggie said. Roman and Maggie walked out of my room without making one tiny noise. Later that evening I know his presence anywhere. His scent was unmistakable. Dean was in my room. My eyes fluttered open, and I saw Dean kneeling next to me, caressing my cheek. His touch was cold against my warm skin, and I immediately melted. I sat up to look at his face. "I hope you slept well." Dean said as he sat on the edge of my bed. "I did. It's been a crazy few days." I said. "I understand. This is all new for you, but you shouldn't worry about anything. You're home, and you should feel comfortable." Dean said. "What time is it? I must have slept half the day away." I said. "It's around 7:30." Dean said. "I think I should get up. I need some dinner. I think I'm gonna go to Emeril's. I used to go there..." I said as I was getting up. "With your mom when you came home on break. I know the story. You told me this in New York." Dean said. "I'm surprised you remembered." I said. "Oh there's a lot that I remember. You see that box that's sitting on the Hope chest? Why don't you open it?" Dean said. I walked over to the chest wondering what was in the beautifully adorned box. All kinds of thoughts went through my head. "Before you open this box, you have to agree to have dinner with me." Dean said. "Dinner?" I asked. "Yes, dinner. Don't worry. I have one of the finest chefs in the kitchen whipping up a meal that is fit for a queen." Dean said. "So it's only dinner." I said. "Yes, and I promise to be a good boy." Dean said. "I will take you at your word. What time should I meet you?" I said. "I will see you in an hour. Don't be late." Dean said as he walked out of my room. I opened the box to find the dress I had worn to this year's Hall of Fame ceremony. It was a black, princess cut dress from Carolina Herrera. I had saved a lot of money to purchase this dress, but it was worth it. Also my Christian Louboutin heels, that Lana got me for my birthday, were in the box. In a small velvet box, were a pair of diamond teardrop earrings. Dean had impeccable taste. I guess I'll get ready. After a few adjustments, I made my way downstairs to the parlor. There was a beautiful table set for two. I was amazed. Dean really outdone himself. Even though it was only dinner. "You look radiant. I must say I love you in that dress." I heard Dean say behind me. I turned around to see Dean dressed in a Tom Ford suit. The last time I saw Dean in a suit was the night of the Slammy Awards, but I didn't know he was vampire then. Tonight, he made Tom Ford look extraordinary. "I must say, you look very handsome, Mr. Ambrose." I said. "Why thank you, Miss Delacroix. Shall we?" Dean said as we walked towards the table. Dean pulled out my chair and walked around to his side. I pulled out my napkin and put it across my lap. The flavored smells that came from the kitchen was heavenly. I was curious to know who was cooking. I didn't want to pry. I just knew I was quite hungry. "I hope you like what's being prepared for you. I understand it's a favorite dish of yours from Emeril's." Dean said. "Wait. You had someone make Shellfish Buccatini Nero?" I asked. "Not just anyone." Dean said. Suddenly the doors opened, and Emeril LaGasse walked out. I looked at Dean with utter amazement. How did he get Emeril to make me my favorite dish? "I hope that it is to your satisfaction. Dean told me your story about how you and your mom would come to my restaurant. He asked me to make this dish for you, and I told him I would be honored." Emeril said as he sat the plate in front of me. "How do you know Dean?" I asked. "I'm a huge fan of the WWE. Dean's one of my favorite superstars. He comes to my restaurant when he's in town. Well, I must get back to the kitchen. I have to clean up and get back to the restaurant. Desert is in the refrigerator. I made you a Salted Caramel Cheesecake. The sorbet is in the freezer. I hope you enjoy it." Emeril said. "Thank you, Emeril. I should come by again soon. Next time, I won't be alone." Dean said as he looked at me. "You're welcome, and I will hold you to that promise." Emeril said as he walked back into the kitchen. "How did you manage to pull this off in one hour?" I asked. "Easy. I just called him and asked for a favor. No, I didn't threaten to kill him. I mean what would the world be like without Emeril? Boring, I tell ya. Emeril is the man, and I love him. Now, you sit there and enjoy his dish." Dean said. Dean was right. A world without Emeril LaGasse would be boring. My taste buds thanked me in so many ways. Everything was delicious. Even the Salted Caramel Cheesecake. I sat back and sipped on my glass of vintage Pinot Grigio. Dean was sipping on something that was blood red. I couldn't help but watch Dean as he looked at me. His eyes were a perfect shade of blue and enticing. "Dinner was great, Dean. Thank you." I said. "Glad you enjoyed it." Dean said. "So tell me, how long had you've been following me?" I asked. "Actually, I wasn't a vampire when I met you. I was very much human. The night I became a vampire was the night I last saw you before your graduation." Dean said. "So why did you become a vampire?" I asked. " Because Julien offered me a better life than the one I had. I became a vampire because I wanted to be with you." Dean said. "That's crazy. I mean, you didn't know if I was half-vampire. I didn't know I was half-vampire. How could you have known?" I said. "Julien told me everything. As I came into my powers, Julien told me who you really were. He had been watching you all of your life. He needed to find the perfect mate for you, and I became that mate. He groomed me. Soon, I was his most deadliest charge. I sired Seth. I got into the WWE, and then became unstoppable. No one could stop me, not even your brother. I was determined to have what I wanted, and I wanted you. So you see, even if you weren't the daughter of Julien Delacroix, I would have done everything I could to make you mine forever." Dean said. A sudden chill ran up my spine. I knew if I stayed longer, I could be putting myself at risk, and I couldn't if I wanted Maggie to be safe. I began to stand up when Dean walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. My mind began to swim as I looked into his eyes. "LaKeisha Delacroix, I love you. I would never hurt you. I'm still that guy you met in New York. I haven't changed. I'll always be Jonathan." Dean said as he began to kiss me. I wanted to surrender to him. I wanted to let go. Yet, I couldn't. Not now. I needed time. I needed to get adjusted to this new life. I broke away from his kiss. "Dean, I know you will always be Jonathan, but I need time. I need to adjust to all of this. Thanks for an amazing dinner." I said. I kissed Dean sweetly on his lips and made my way to my room. I sat down on my bed and sighed. This maybe harder than I thought. Dean's POV "You know, she will never forgive you if she ever found out about what you're about to do." Seth said. "Killing Amanda? No, she wouldn't forgive me, but I don't plan on her finding out. Even if she did find out, well, I won't say what will happen. I do know, she is getting stronger. She has learned to resist me." I said. "She is half-vampire. Don't think she doesn't know the ways of a vampire." Seth said. "No, she's still in love with my human half, Jonathan." I said. "Then maybe for one night, you should become Jonathan." Seth said, laughing. "Seth, you are a fucking genius! That's how I am gonna seduce her. Become him. Become Jonathan." I said. "And how are you gonna do that?" Seth asked. I put my hands over my face and remembered what I looked like when I met LaKeisha. My hair was a little longer, and my eyes didn't have flecks of gold in them. They were the perfect shade of blue. My fangs were gone. My nails were shorter. When I was done with my transformation, Seth looked at me like he didn't recognize me at all. "Jesus, Dean! What did you do?" Seth said. "My name is not Dean. My name is Jonathan Good. Tonight, I will claim my queen in this form. Tonight, you are gonna make the ultimate sacrifice by killing Amanda. Tonight, LaKeisha's world will change." I said as I was walking out of the room. I walked towards LaKeisha's room. I could sense her confusion. I could sense her every emotion. I knew I couldn't just come into her room wearing my suit. I needed to be wearing something I wore when I was Jonathan. Something that I wouldn't wear. I returned to my room and picked out a pair of jeans and my black tank top. I found my necklace that I wore the night I met LaKeisha in Washington Square. I made sure I wasn't in my vamp mode. I needed to be human. I made my way back to her. Her heartbeat was steady. She was asleep. I needed the element of surprise, and that I had. It was time to make my impression felt. LaKeisha's POV I finally got to close my eyes. It felt good to finally sleep at a normal time. I let my mind wander to my dinner with Dean. I thought about who he was before. Jonathan Good was no ordinary guy. He was different. He had this wit about him, and I fell for him. When I didn't see him, I figured it was hard for him to say goodbye. Now, I knew why. I turned over and saw someone standing in my room. I focused my eyes and turned on my bedside lamp. For a moment, I thought I was dreaming. Because I was staring at Jonathan. "Hi, LaKeisha." Jonathan said. "Jonathan?" I asked, confused. "Yes, it's me." Jonathan said. It looked like him. It sounded like him. He even dressed like him. I got out of bed and walked towards him. My instincts told me that this was Dean. That he masked his appearance to look like Jonathan, but I forgot that Dean is Jonathan. No matter what I thought. "Did you miss me?" Jonathan asked. "I did. Why are you here?" I said. "Because I needed to see you. I needed to touch you. I needed to hold you." Jonathan said as he walked towards me. "Jonathan, this is not the time for a reunion. I have to deal with..." I began to say. "Dean. I know. My vampiric half. The one who took over when I 'died'. He's not as strong as he looks. He's weak. He gets drunk off of power. I don't care about that. All I ever wanted was you. I was willing to do whatever it takes to get back to you." Jonathan said. "No, you're not real. Jonathan's dead. You're not him." I said with tears in my eyes as I backed up against the wall. "I am him. Touch me, LaKeisha. Feel me." Jonathan said. I touched his face and looked into his eyes. It was like I was looking at Jonathan. I couldn't sense Dean at all. I knew he was there and everything in me was fighting what I was feeling. Jonathan's lips crashed into mine. I wanted to stop him. I wanted to resist him, but he deepened the kiss. I found myself slowly surrendering to him. "Let go, LaKeisha." Jonathan whispered against my lips. I wrapped my arms around Jonathan's neck and let him lead me to the bed. He slowly laid me down and looked at me. He kissed me again. I felt the fabric of my nightgown rip from my body. Jonathan kissed my neck. I shuddered. Jonathan noticed my uneasiness. "LaKeisha, I'm not Dean. I promise I won't hurt you. Not tonight. Not ever." Jonathan said. I reached and pulled his tank top off. I forgotten how smooth his skin was next to mine. Every touch from Jonathan set me off. My nerves were on edge. Jonathan finally freed himself of his jeans and began kissing my body till he reach my sweet spot. His tongue felt so good there. I hit my first orgasm. I thought I was in heaven. Suddenly Jonathan climbed back up and without warning pushed himself inside of me. The feeling was intense and powerful. I couldn't help myself. Neither could Jonathan. No matter how hard we tried. Amanda's House Seth stood outside Amanda's house. He knew that this has to be done. This was the only way LaKeisha would come to Dean. Killing the one person she loved more than anything would do just that. Seth felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. It was Julien. Seth answered. "Hello, Julien. How is everything?" Seth asked. "Fine, Seth. I'm calling to ask you to reconsider what you're about to do. Amanda is innocent in all of this. I can convince my daughter to give herself to Dean willingly." Julien said. "My, my, Julien. I hate to see you beg, but it has to be done. Now, as long as you don't say a word to LaKeisha, she won't lose another parent. Now if you will excuse me, I have a dinner date." Seth said. He hung up the phone and looked at the light that glowed upstairs. He took a deep breath and made his way to the house. "For you, Brother."

I look over to see my mother, sitting on a bench surrounded by flowers. She was so beautiful. She smiled at me as I walked towards her. "Mama?" I asked. "Hi, my beautiful LaKeisha. I have missed you." Amanda said. "I have missed you, Mama. I wished I was there to protect you." I said. "You couldn't protect me from him. He was too cunning. Too convincing. He knew all the right things to say to me. I had to let go of you." Amanda said. "Let go? Who would say this to you? You're my mother. I would never want you to let go of me. So what if you're not vampire. I could never live without you. It wasn't your time to go." I said. "LaKeisha, if I told you who was behind my death, it would have an impact on your life now." Amanda said. "My life has already been impacted. Mama, I need to know if my father was behind your death." I said. "Your father? Julien? Julien loved me. He would never hurt me. No, this person is more sinister than you think." Amanda said. "Wait? What?" I asked, perplexed. "Honey, Julien wasn't behind my death. I can't reveal who it was, or your life will be in danger. Just know I died protecting you. Listen, promise me that you will keep your guard up. Don't let this situation get the best of you. OK? Remember I love you, LaKeisha." Amanda said as she faded away. I opened my eyes to find my brother and Maggie sitting next me. The look of worry written all over their faces. I was dreaming of my mother. No, I couldn't have. It was real, and with everything that was just revealed. I needed answers. "Sis, you OK? You look as if you just seen a ghost." Roman said. "If seeing my mother in a dream constitutes as a ghost, then I guess I have." I said. "Wait, you saw Amanda?" Maggie asked. "Yes, I did. Julien lied to us. So did Seth." I said. "What are you talking about?" Roman asked. "Julien didn't have my mother killed. Someone else was responsible." I said. "What makes you think that someone else was responsible, Sis. I mean you heard it from Julien himself." Roman said. "Roman, think about it. Why would Julien have Amanda killed? I mean, he has had plenty of chances to do so. So why now? It really doesn't make sense." Maggie said. "That's because Julien is protecting someone. Someone who would do anything to make sure that I would come to them completely." I said. "Oh my God, it couldn't be!" Maggie said. "You think it's Dean?" Roman asked. "I need to be sure, but I also have to tread lightly. I can't lose the both of you. Dean is become deadlier than ever before, and Dean's power is growing. I can feel it, and I don't know why." I said. "That's because he drank from you, LaKeisha." Seth said as he walked into my room. "I forgot about that. The night that everything changed." Maggie said. "LaKeisha, you are half-vampire, but you are a powerful one. Dean knows just how powerful you truly are. Dean has always wanted that kind of power. Yes, he's strong, but he is not a powerful vampire. Drinking from you gave him some measure of the kind of power he wants, and he will not rest till he has what he wants: you as his queen and Julien's power as king of all vampires." Seth said. "So what now? How do we stop Dean?" Maggie asked. "You're asking me? I can't control him, let alone stop him. He's my sire. You think I like the fact that I killed Amanda for him?" Seth said. "Oh my God! Julien didn't ask you to kill Amanda?" Maggie asked. "No, he didn't. That was Dean. He wanted to make sure LaKeisha came to him, and he knew the only way was to make sure Amanda died. LaKeisha, you need to leave New Orleans. I can provide as much cover I can for you, Maggie, and Roman, but as long as you stay here, you will never be safe from Dean. I promise you. Dean is determined to have you mind, body, and soul." Seth said. "That's great, Seth, but where will she go? Dean will find her. You know this, Seth. I won't risk my sister's life by running. We need to think about this. We need a solid plan." Roman said. "Roman's right. I can't run away. I need to stay here. I know I will have to confront Dean about this, but this is not the time. Too many lives on the line, Seth. That includes you. No, we do need a plan, but we will talk later. I feel a disturbance in the force." I said. "You and your Star Wars analogies." Maggie said. "Couldn't help it. Let's meet later, Seth. I need to know everything." I said. "OK." Seth said. My door opened and Dean walked in. He rushed to my side and wrapped his arms around me. I could feel his breath on my skin as he inhaled my scent. I truly wanted to run away, but his pull was too strong. I have to learn to fight him, or I will live with him for eternity as his queen. "So I guess you know about what I did." Dean whispered softly in my ear. I looked at him. Oh my God, he knows. "It's Ok, LaKeisha. I promise that you won't ever have to worry about me ever hurting you again, as long as you become my wife and my queen. Then you won't have to watch Julien, Roman, Maggie, and Seth die a horrible death by my hands." Dean said. Dean kissed my neck. I began to tremble. "Your own Personal Jesus...." Dean sung quietly in my ear. Now what? 2/10/2016 0 Comments Chapter 8 - Battle LinesMaggie's POV
I looked at Dean, who was still fuming at Seth. Somehow, I knew LaKeisha was right. This wasn't Seth's fault. It really wasn't Julien's fault. It was Dean's. He was the catalyst for what has been happening in LaKeisha's life. She's no vampire. She's human, and now she's paid the ultimate price all because of Dean's desire to have her. I stood there letting the anger rise. Roman noticed and walked over to me. "Maggie, you can't be angry at Dean. I know why you are, but eventually you have to forgive him." Roman said. "How can I? He's the reason I'm a vampire and LaKeisha's mom is dead. Because of his blinding desire, she's lost me and her mom. How can she live like this?" I said. "Maggie..." Roman started to say. "She can't. She shouldn't have to accept this life. This is our life. Not hers." I said. Suddenly panic came across Roman's face. Something was wrong, and I felt Roman's grip tighten on my shoulder. He looked at me and said the words that would change everything. "LaKeisha is at Julien's. We need to get to her fast, or Julien dies." Roman said. "Wait. What? She's at Julien's? How did she sneak out without us knowing?" Dean asked. "She's blinded by revenge. If it consumes her, neither one of us will be able to stop her. Including you, Dean. You're strong, but my sister is stronger. She's stronger than all of us. She's human, but she is a vampire. We can not let her lose the little humanity she has left." Roman said. "Then I say we leave now and get to Julien's." I said. "Let's go." Dean said. LaKeisha's POV "I'm sorry to hear about Amanda's passing. It was tragic. I know how much your mother meant to you." Julien said. "You're sorry? Sorry for what?" I asked. "LaKeisha, you do know I did love your mother. She was the great love of my life. I didn't want to see your mother hurt, but it had to be done. You cannot have ties to the human world." Julien said. "Ties? She was my mother, and you killed her!" I said, angrily. "I had her killed. My hands are washed clean. I only asked Seth to do it because I knew Dean wouldn't do it. He's torn between his love for you and his loyalty to me. Truth be told, I think it's endearing. Now, if he wants to stay alive, he will do the one thing that I asked of him." Julien said. "I know. Turn your daughter into a full-fledged vampire. I'm sorry to disappoint you, father. I will never be a vampire, and truth be told, you will never lay a hand on Dean." I said. "My dear sweet child, Dean will do whatever I ask him. Because he may love you, but he is loyal to me. I am his sire. Not you." Julien said. "I never questioned Dean's loyalty to you. In fact, I feel that if you asked Dean to kill my mom, he would have. Because he would do anything to keep me with him. Yes, he is loyal to you, but he is loyal to me. I will not turn into a killer because my dad can't stand the fact that he has a half-human daughter. You chose this. Not me. Accept it for what it is. I am your daughter. I am very much human, and I will stay that way." I said. "Your humanity has clouded your judgement. You can not stay a human, LaKeisha. You can not rule the vampire world as a human. You do not understand our world." Julien said. "I don't care about all of this vampire mess. What I care about is my mother. She's dead. You killed her, and you have to pay, Julien." I said. Suddenly, my grandmother, Melanie, appeared. She's dead. Wait. Am I dreaming? I have to. Because she can't be here. "Mother, what are you doing here?" Julien asked. "I'm here to protect my legacy. My granddaughter. LaKeisha, look at me. This is not the time or the place. You're not strong enough. Not yet. I need you to survive, my child." Melanie said. "He killed my mother. He has to pay." I said. "And he will by your hands. You must not let revenge blind you, or it will consume you. You can't let that happen. Joseph needs you. Maggie needs you. Seth needs you. Dean needs you." Melanie said. Maggie. I completely forgot about Maggie. My vampire family. No, I can't do this alone. I need them. I need Melanie. "I need them. Grandmother, help me." I said, tearfully. "I am always near, my child. Right now, you must get stronger. Learn all you can from your brother. Embrace your destiny. When the time comes, my son will face the music. The battle lines have been drawn." Melanie said. "Mother, your judgement is clouded." Julien said. "It is not, Julien. I am very clear in my thinking, even in the spirit world." Melanie said. "I will not stand for this betrayal, Mother. I am your son." Julien said. "You stopped being my son the moment you killed me." Melanie said. I looked at Melanie. Julien killed Melanie. The shock and anger was overwhelming. I wanted to kill Julien. My family was dying by his hands, and I needed to stop him. I started to lunge at Julien, but my brother stopped me. "LaKeisha, stop! This is not the time. Listen to Grandmother. Julien will die. I promise you. He will pay for everything he's done to us." Roman said. "No, he has to die now!" I said. "Sis, I know you're hurting. You loved your mother. I know. Just like I loved my grandmother. She was the light of my life. Now, I just found my sister, and she's the light of my life. I can't lose you, LaKeisha." Roman said. I looked at my brother. I wrapped my arms around him. He picked me up and walked towards the door. "You live to fight another day, Julien, but your days are numbered. LaKeisha will take her rightful place, and I will make sure of it. I promise you that you will pay for what you did." I heard Dean say. "Dean, I made you..." Julien started to say. "No, you wanted me to be a monster, and I was. Then you asked me to be LaKeisha's mate. Yes, I was willing to do your bidding, but the moment I saw her, I knew I needed to protect her. This is her life, but she is gonna live it as a human. I will not turn her. Not for you. Not even for me. I may never grow old, but at least she can. The day she dies is the day I die. I am no longer a puppet for you, Julien." Dean said. Suddenly I felt a rush of wind and found myself back at the home I share with Dean. Roman carried me to my room and laid me down. It would be sunrise soon, and the only people I want around me was Roman. I needed my brother. "You need this time with her, and I respect that. She is your sister. I will go to my room. When she is ready, she will tell you. Right now, she needs her family." I heard Maggie tell Roman. "Maggie, you are family. I will move your coffin into the room next to mine. We will both be here." Roman said. Dean understood what Roman was doing. He had to prepare me for the battle ahead. Dean turned walked into his room. "I know what you did, Dean. For now, you don't have to worry about her knowing, but I will protect her from you." Melanie said. "I know." Dean said. "Good. Then you need to prepare as well. Because the war has just begun." Melanie said. 1/5/2016 0 Comments Chapter 7- Cry Little SisterLaKeisha's POV
I opened my eyes to see my phone lit up like a Christmas tree. It seems like my Aunt Gina has called me. I wonder what she wants? I hope everything is OK with my Uncle Patrick. I eased out of Jonathan's arms and got out of bed. I grabbed my phone and hit the redial button to call my aunt back. A feeling of dread loomed over me. This wasn't good. "Hello?" A voice answered. It was my cousin, Andrea. Why would she be answering Aunt Gina's phone? "Andrea, it's LaKeisha. Is Aunt Gina OK?" I said. "Oh God, Keisha! You need to come home. Something's happened to your mom." Andrea said. "Wait. What's happened to Mama? Andrea, what's going on?" I asked, frantically. Suddenly, my Aunt Gina tearfully spoke. "She's dead, LaKeisha. Someone killed your mother." She said. I dropped the phone and screamed. Jonathan came to my side and looked at me. Roman and Maggie came into the room. My crying was uncontrollable. No one understood why I was crying. Maggie grabbed the phone and spoke to my Aunt. The anger on her face was apparent. "Someone killed LaKeisha's mother last night." Maggie said. "Who?" Roman asked. "They don't know." Maggie said. "Sis, I'm so sorry. I promise you that who ever did this will pay dearly. You don't mess with family." Roman said as he held me close. I looked at Jonathan, but he was no longer there. Dean had returned, and his face was unreadable. Could he be behind the death of my mother? My only tie to my humanity? "Dean? What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing, love. I just have an uneasy feeling about this. Right now, you need to be with family. Your human family. Maggie, Roman, and I will be there for you as well. I love you, LaKeisha. I promise you that no one will hurt you ever again." Dean said as he caressed my face. One Week Later I sat in my room at my mom's house, numb. Today we buried my mom. Every memory of her I had flooded my brain. I know I shouldn't be left alone, but I needed the silence. My mom was my life. She was my everything. All my success was because she believed in me, and now she's gone. My world was gone. How can I live without her? Maggie's POV: I knew that LaKeisha was hurting, and I wanted to take away her pain. I arrived at Amanda's house hoping that LaKeisha will let me in and let me comfort her. Right now, I wasn't Maggie, the vixen vampire. I was Maggie, bestie and sister of LaKeisha. As I walked up the walkway, a familiar scent hit my nose. Oh my god! It can't be. Seth? I arrived back to the house. I needed to see Seth, but he wasn't nowhere around. I hoped he had nothing to do with Amanda's death. I walked back to my car. I really needed to see LaKeisha. Suddenly, I turned to see Seth standing before me. "So you figured it out." Seth said. "Figured what out?" I asked. "That it was me who killed Amanda." Seth said. "What? You did what?" I asked angrily. "Oh, come on, Maggie! It was inevitable. Amanda was just a meal for me." Seth said. "A meal? A fucking meal? She was LaKeisha's mother. Not a meal." I said. "You don't understand, Maggie. LaKeisha is our queen. Dean will be her king. She is a vampire. Her humanity would have killed us all. Do you truly think that humans and vampires could co-exist together?" Seth said. I felt my anger reach a boiling point. Without warning, I wrapped my hand around Seth's neck. "Did you think I would let you live to see another sunset?" I asked. "Maggie, you kill me, and Dean will never forgive you." Seth said. "Do you really think I care?" I said. LaKeisha's POV: How much Jack Daniels can one girl drink? Enough to be completely and totally numb. OK, maybe I shouldn't drink. Maybe I should be with Dean. Maybe I should embrace who I am, a vampire. Maybe I should let go of my humanity and just be what my father wants me to be, a killer. I mean, I have no one except Roman, Maggie, and Dean. Oh yeah, I forgot Seth. How could I forget Seth? The reason why my sister is a vampire. Maybe the reason why my mother is dead. "WHY DON'T YOU KILL ME?" I screamed. Suddenly, I felt his presence in the room. I knew Dean anywhere. "LaKeisha, you know you shouldn't be alone. You're too vulnerable." Dean said. "Vulnerable? Ha! I've been vulnerable since I met you, Dean Ambrose." I said in my drunken stupor. "LaKeisha, how much have you had?" Dean asked. "Not enough apparently. Not enough to forget you, Roman, and Seth exist. Not enough to forget my own father. Not enough to wish my best friend back as a human or to have my mother here! There isn't enough Jack Daniels in the world, Dean to give me what I want." I said. "What do you want?" Dean asked. "My fucking life back! That's what I want! I want normalcy. I need it. I crave it. Damn it, Dean! Vampires were not on my to-do list. Yet, here I am, and there you are." I said. "LaKeisha, you were never normal. You are not a normal person, but this is your life." Dean said. "This is not my life. My life is lying in a cemetery. Lifeless, cold, and dead. This? This is not my life." I said. Dean took a step towards me. I knew he wanted to hold me, but I didn't want to be held. I didn't know what I wanted. "Just stay away from me, Dean. Please." I said. "I can't do that, LaKeisha. You are in no shape to be alone." Dean said. "Then make yourself useful. Turn me." I said. "What?" Dean said. "Turn me. Isn't that what you want?" I said. "No, it's not what I want. I don't want to turn you. I want you to live. I want you here, alive and human." I said. "Oh come on, Dean! It's what you wanted in the beginning. It's what my father wanted. He wanted you to turn me. He couldn't stand that fact that he had a half-human daughter, but you know what? I was perfectly fine. Now? Not so much. So do us all a favor, Dean. Make me a vampire and make my father happy." I said. "No, LaKeisha. I will not. I will not be forced to do something that you are truly not ready for. Not tonight. Not ever. Right now, what I want is to hold you and never let you go. I want you to cry and scream till you just can't anymore. Then, I want you to fight. I want you to fight with everything that is in you. Because we are going to find out why your mother died. We are going to find the people that did this, and they will pay. I promise you. Do you hear me? They will pay." Dean said. Dean wrapped his arms around me, and I collapsed. I cried. I screamed. I even begged, but I knew nothing was going to bring my mother back no matter what I did. The anger rose like a tidal wave, but for now, I need to just cry and be here in the arms of the man who loves me. Roman's POV: Vampires are creatures of habit. That's something I know all too well. I know of the rage and anger a vampire feels when one has been betrayed. This was no different. "You don't understand, Roman. Julien asked me to kill Amanda to bring LaKeisha to us. Julien thought it was only way to turn her into a vampire." Seth said. "Julien was wrong. Seth, you made a grievous mistake, and I promise you that you will answer for it. Yet, it won't be by my hands or Maggie's. I will let my sister decide your fate. Because I promise you that you will pay for what you did." I said. "That's where you're wrong. Because I know that right now as we speak, Dean is with your precious sister, and he's probably turning her now." Seth said, evily. "Yes, Dean is with my sister, but he's not doing my father's bidding. LaKeisha is still human, and Dean will not turn her. He loves her too much. He rather have her as human than vampire." I said. "No! Dean would never betray Julien." Seth said. "Now, that's where you're wrong, Sethie. Dean has betrayed Julien, or should I say Jonathan has betrayed Julien." Maggie said. "He wouldn't." Seth said. "Look, Seth. I know why you did what you did, but you realize that you may have signed your death warrant. Dean's not very forgiving, and you know that. Did you forget what happened to Cesaro?" I said. "I haven't forgotten. Thankfully Julien stopped Dean from taking his life. Look, I understand that you're upset with me, but I had no choice. Julien threatned to kill everyone I love. You, Dean, and Maggie. I did what I had to do." Seth said. "And what did you have to do?" LaKeisha said as she walked in with Dean. "Tell her, Seth. Tell her that you're responsible for the death of her mother." I said. LaKeisha's POV The words didn't register. Seth was responsible for my mother's death. I watched Dean as he made his way over to Seth. The fear was evident in his eyes, but Seth was resigned to his fate. He knew Dean was gonna kill him, but I didn't want that. There had been enough death already. “Why did you do it? Why did you kill my mother?” I asked, angrily. “Because I was asked to by your father.” Seth said. “Ah! So my father asked you to murder the one person in my life who means everything to me for what? To make me a full-fledged vamp? Wow! Seth, do you realize what you have done?” I said. “Yes, I realize what I have done, and I will accept my fate however you choose for me to die.” Seth said. "Just give me the word, LaKeisha, and I will gladly end his life." Dean said, angrily. "No, he has suffered enough. His actions were justified. My father threatned him. He threatned you, Roman, and Maggie. Seth's not the problem. My father is the problem, and we must deal with him. There's been enough death among us. I can't deal with that now. For now, Seth lives to see another sunset." I said. "Sis, you sure?" Roman asked. "Yes, I am. I have never been so sure of anything in my life." I said. I walked out of the room and took a deep breath. Seth killed my mom, and he lived to tell about it. Yet, it wasn't his fault. It was my father's. I slowly crept out of the house and walked in the direction I needed to go. I arrived at the manor that my father was staying. The vampires that stood watch let me in. I walked towards the parlor and found my father sitting at his desk. "Hello Julien." I said. Tonight, my father dies. LaKeisha's POV: Maggie was gone. I laid on the floor hoping that this was a nightmare, and I would wake up to my normal life. One that didn't include vampires, but it wasn't a nightmare. It was really happening. My thoughts were everywhere. Then I remembered Seth's words to Maggie: I was Dean's soulmate. How could I be Dean's soulmate? I didn't know he existed until he came to the WWE. There was no way Dean was my soulmate, or is he? Flashback- 2009 NYU Campus I walked across the campus headed to the Tisch School. I had to meet with Maggie and talk about our final project. I couldn't believe we were graduating. I was so excited. As I made my way across Washington Square, I bumped into someone. It was nighttime, and I wasn't paying attention. I looked up at the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. "I'm sorry. I should've looked where I was going." I said. "It's OK. I wasn't looking either." My mysterious stranger said. "Are you a student here?" I asked. "No, I live nearby. I was just out for a walk. You?" He asked. "Yeah. I'm graduating soon. Film student. Going to be a screenwriter." I said. "Congratulations..." He started to say. "LaKeisha. LaKeisha Delacroix." I said, shaking his hand. "Jonathan Good. You must be from New Orleans." Jonathan said. "I am. Well, I was born here in NYC, but I was raised in New Orleans." I said. "I was born in Ohio. Midwestern boy." Jonathan said. "Nice. Well, I have to get going. Gotta meet my friend. Maybe I'll see you around before I graduate?" I said. "How about we meet for coffee tomorrow night? I work during the day, so my only free time is at night. Unless I have to travel." Jonathan said. "OK. What time?" I asked. "7pm. I will call you with the location." Jonathan said. "OK. Let me give you my number." I said. I gave him my number. He smelled so good. Like he was intoxicating. I started to walk away when he spoke. "See you tomorrow night." Jonathan said. "See you tomorrow night." I said. I began walking when I decided to turn around to see Jonathan, but just like that, he was gone. I shook my head and made my way to Maggie. Present Day That was a strange memory. Jonathan Good. I remember him. We met for coffee the next night and had a few dates afterwards. I actually fell in love with him. He disappeared the day before I graduated. I always wondered what happened to him. I guess I would never know. Roman appeared with a bag in his hand. I hoped it was food. I was starving. "Hey. How ya feeling?" Roman asked. "Oh, lost and emotional. Just lost my best friend. I mean, I don't know where to begin." I said. "Well, you should get dressed. We got to get Maggie back, and you have a date with destiny." Roman said. "Wait. A date with destiny?" I asked. "Yes, you need to meet your grandmother." Roman said. "Melanie?" I asked. "Yes, I can communicate with her in the spirit world. She will help you tap into that power you have." Roman said. Roman handed me the bag. I looked in it and found an outfit I wasn't prepared to wear. "What am I? A dominatrix?" I asked. "No, but leather is perfect for you." Roman said. I sighed. I stood up and left the room to get dressed. I hope Roman was right. Because I needed Maggie more than ever. After 30 minutes, I emerged wearing leather pants, a black lace bustier, and a leather jacket. I placed my hair up in a sexy ponytail. Roman looked at me. The smile was evident. "Not bad, sis." Roman said. "Thank you. So now what?" I asked. "Well, you need to prepare. You're going back into the lion's den. This time, you have to be ready. Because Dean's not gonna just hand Maggie to you. You have to be able to shake the mental hold that Dean has. Now close your eyes. It's time to meet Melanie." Roman said. I closed my eyes. Roman placed his hands on my head and began to speak in Latin. I felt like I was being pulled through time and space. Suddenly I was in darkness, and I heard a voice. "My beautiful granddaughter. I am so excited to meet you." I heard a voice say. I turned to see my grandmother in front of me. Her hair was beautiful, and she looked as if she hadn't aged a day. "Hello, Grandmother." "We don't have much time. I already know the answers you seek." Melanie said. "You do?" I asked. "Yes. I know everything, my child. I have kept you safe so no one could hurt you. You are my legacy, LaKeisha. You and Joseph, and I must do all I can to keep that legacy alive." Melanie said. "Yet, here I am, at a crossroads. I have a decision to make. One that will change the course of human history. Vampire and human living side by side or humans enslaved to all vampires. What do I do?" I said. "Oh, LaKeisha. You know what to do. Don't make the same mistakes I made. Don't be so blind to what your father said. Yes, you can bridge our worlds, but you don't have to enslave the human race. Don't let my son use you as an instrument. Do what you must. Embrace your destiny." Melanie said. She touched me and I fell back. I opened my eyes and looked up to see Roman. Suddenly I felt as strong as my brother and totally different. I wasn't scared anymore. In fact, I felt confident. "LaKeisha?" Roman said. "Yeah?" I said. "You OK?" Roman asked. "Yeah. Let's go get Maggie." I said. Roman and I roamed the French Quarter. I kept thinking about Dean and Jonathan. I would give anything to see him again. I keep seeing his blue eyes and long hair. His smile. Wait. His smile. I stopped Roman. "What is it, Sis?" Roman asked. "What was Dean's name before he was Dean Ambrose?" I asked. "Jon Moxley, when he was just small time vampire. His given name is..." Roman said as I stopped him. "Jonathan Good." I said. "What?" Roman asked as he looked at me. "Rome, he has always been there. He's been watching me. Following me. God, Roman! Dean Ambrose is the man I fell in love with in NYC." I said. "I'm missing something here. What do you mean?" Roman asked. "Dean Ambrose is the man I met in Washington Square when I was at NYU. He didn't go by Dean Ambrose. He went by Jonathan Good. I spent every night with him. Then he disappeared the day before my graduation. I fell in love with him, Roman." I said. "LaKeisha, you fell in love with Jonathan, not Dean. There's a part of Dean that still has some humanity, and you can use that your advantage." Roman said. Roman suddenly went in defensive mode. I turned to see Renee coming towards me. I looked at Roman with his fangs showing. Was Renee a threat? I looked at her as she stopped in front of me. "Oh Roman. Why must you always be in the way? You and I both know that Dean is mine. She's in the way, and I must stop her. She can not destroy the man I love." Renee said. "She's right here, and no one is gonna stop me. Not even you." I said as I walked up to Renee. I touched her shoulder and spoke ancient Latin. "Me ad Decanum et animas nostras." I said. Renee looked at me. "As you wish, my queen." She led us to the house where Dean was. Roman looked at me. "You're sure you want to do this?" Roman asked. "Yes, I am. With my brother and my best friend by my side, I know I will be fine. I promise to bring Jonathan back, and keep the peace between human and vampire." I said as we walked into the house. I walked into the room where Dean, Seth, and Maggie was. Maggie smiled as she laid eyes on me. Dean looked perplexed. "Before you say anything, I have made my decision." I said to Dean. "You have, darlin'? What is your decision?" Dean asked. I closed my eyes and opened them. A gasp fell out of Maggie's mouth. My eyes were a perfect shade of gold. "Your queen has come home, my love." I said. Dean walked over to me. His smile was evident. His arms snaked around my waist. "I have waited for this moment for a long time." Dean said. "You never had to, Jonathan." I said. I kissed his lips passionately. He pulled away from me and looked into my eyes. "How..." Dean started to say. "It matters not now." I said. Maggie looked at me and walked over. She knew me well enough to know I had a plan. "Well, it looks like I have a wedding to plan." Maggie said. She knew me all too well. Maggie's POV: I don't know exactly how I got there because I was so blinded with hunger. I felt anger, and was also blinded by some kind of over whelming determination. I was stumbling down a dark alley of New Orleans. Suddenly, standing in front of me was Dean. His cold blue eyes staring at me smirk across his face. Next to him was Seth, who grinned like the cat who ate the cream. I felt exhausted, and suddenly felt Dean's power push me down to my knees. Holy shit! "Like I told you Seth, it was just enough time to make it happen." Dean said. He walked over and slowly circled me. I was unable to move knowing what had happened. I could smell blood on his skin and coming from Seth. A fresh kill. I knew what I had become. I tried fighting it, but the thirst was strong, and now this raging anger was taking over me. I felt out of control. "Maggie Riven, what a joy to have you in my little family. I wish you had come sooner, you look ravenous." Dean said. "What did you do to me?" I shouted. "I think you know." Dean said. "But why?" I demanded. "I have always enjoyed your inner conflict. You try so hard to be good. You're so angry. So full of the need to be brutal and eager to fight." He said. Seth laughed. "You don't know me. Don't even pretend like you do." I said. I suddenly felt a wave of power over me. I shuddered violently. "Seth, this is exactly what I've been talking about. Even now she still fights." Dean said as he lifted my chin to look at him. I knew him suddenly. My heart felt like it would stop. This was Jon, the man LaKeisha fell in love with while we were in school. He did know me. I couldn't understand why I hadn't realized it before now. "Look, Maggie, I'm going to cut to the chase here because we don't have a whole lot of time. You're probably going to die soon if we don't finish what we started, so here's the deal, darling. I know what's in your heart and your soul. You've always wanted to be the rebel girl, the tough one. You've wanted to be a force to be reckoned with - respected and feared and loved and desired. I can give you that I can give you all of that. All you have to do is complete the process and become one of my good little soldiers." Dean said. The thirst in my throat was starting to burn. I felt like I was going to pass out from the dizziness and blurred vision. I felt faint. I was drunk and starving. "Of course, there's always the other option. If you won't come with me willingly, I can end you now." Dean said, evily. Seth kneeled next to me. "Maggie, he's right. All those things you wanted, they are almost yours." Seth said as took my hand, as I looked at him. "That's right, Magg. Seth here has been aching to get you over to our side." Dean said. Seth pulled me to my feet. "She won't make it if we don't get her fed." Seth said, slightly worried. "She'll make it. Then, LaKeisha will come for her." Dean said. They led me down the ally to a dumpster. Behind it, a drunken man was asleep in a sleeping bag. I don't remember biting him, but I felt the hot blood fill my mouth and I felt electricity surge through me. I felt laughter well up from the bottom of my core. I was a glorious monster. I knew what Dean was saying was right. I wanted this dangerous, carefree side of me. I had shoved it so far down, conforming to everything and everyone. I wanted to be a beast. I wanted fear and love. I wanted strength. I wanted power I never knew. I could go anywhere and be whoever I wanted. I pulled back from the man, but as I did I broke his neck. Dean looked pleased as Seth steadied me. "You did good, baby girl." Seth whispered to me. "Better than expected. Now let's get you to bed. In the morning, you will be brand new." Dean began to walk away, and Seth took my hand to lead me home. I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar smell. Wait, Seth's here. I know it. Since I'm now a vampire, my senses are heightened, and my thirst for human blood is ravenous. I can't wait to kill again. Maggie, what in the hell are you thinking? Dean's using you. He wants her. He needs her, and he just killed what humanity you had left to get to her, and it didn't help you left her alone with Roman. I know she's a smart woman. She will do the right thing. Because she's the only hope I have now. "Maggie..." Seth said. "I'm up, Seth." I said. "Hungry? I have fresh body for you." Seth said. "I'm starving." I said. "Good. Then, you will meet with Dean. He has some questions for you." Seth said. "You think she's coming for me?" I asked. "Yes, she is. As long as her brother is helping her, she will come for you." Seth said. "Her brother? Are you telling me that Roman is her brother?" I asked. "Yes, and he is just as powerful as she is. Roman will help her tap into that power. All that she knows is locked in that beautiful mind of hers." Seth said tapping his fingers against his temple. I stood there. Roman is LaKeisha's brother. Now I understand why he's so protective of her. I looked over at Seth, who was holding a leather jacket in his hand. He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. "You know, immortality looks good on you. Maybe I can convince Dean to let you become my playmate." Seth said. "Seth, I'm not a playmate. I am a killer, and I live to serve my Queen. When she is ready, she will come for me. You just wait. Now, I'm hungry. Will you please take me to my meal?" I said. Seth let me go and handed me my leather jacket. He opened the door, and I walked out headed to my meal. "Dean, why are you so obsessed with her?" I heard a female voice say. "Obsessed? She's my queen. She's my love. What's wrong, Renee? You thought you were gonna rule with me?" Dean said. "Dean, she's poison. She's gonna change you." Renee said. "She already did, Renee. She already changed me. Do you think I like being Dean? I want to be Jonathan Good, but everyday I'm losing my humanity. The more I kill, the more I lose myself. One drop of her blood is all I need. I can finally be free! I can walk among humans and not want to kill them. She can save me. She almost did." Dean said. "Well, she will not take away what I have. I promise you!" Renee said. Suddenly the door opened, and Renee was standing in front of me. I narrowed my eyes at her. "I swear, you go anywhere near LaKeisha, and I will make sure your skin will burn." I said. "Maggie, no need to threaten Renee. She won't go near LaKeisha, and if she does, I will end her." Dean said. "I won't go near her. Right now, I'm going for a walk and a meal. I'm hungry." Renee said as she walked away. Dean looked at me. I followed him into the room. He sat down and looked at me. "You know who I am, Maggie." Dean said. "Yes, Jon. I didn't realize it until the other night. Why didn't you make your move then?" I said. "I wasn't ready then, and I was just coming into my own as a vampire. The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew I loved her. It pained me to live without her." Dean said. "Now, you're a deadly vampire, who killed her best friend. Dean, she may not come for you, but she will come for me. Vampire or not, she will come for me." I said. "Do you think that I don't know this? I was hoping on it. She will not leave this house without you, and she will realize that she will have no choice to be with me." Dean said with a smirk. I'm trapped in eternal hell, and I had no way out. Dean's too powerful to resist. I walked over to a chair and sat down. Seth walked in and walked towards me. "Maggie, you OK?" Seth asked. "No, I need to hunt soon." I said. "Don't worry. We will head out soon. The first few days is always killer. You're a newborn. Newborn vamps are always hungry." Seth said. Suddenly I felt my hunger ease. Wait, how is that possible? Seth and I looked up as Renee walked in with Roman and LaKeisha. Whoa! My bestie is smoking hot. Black leather pants, black lace bustier, and one bad ass leather jacket. "Before you say anything, I have made my decision." LaKeisha said to Dean. "You have, darlin'? What is your decision?" Dean asked. She closed her eyes and opened them. A gasp fell out of my mouth. Her eyes were a perfect shade of gold. She embraced who she was, but how? "No need to ask questions, Maggie. This was her decision. She needed to save you, and Jonathan. This is how she's gonna do it." Roman said in my ear. "Then what am I suppose to do?" I asked. "Plan the wedding. Because the only way she will save you is..." Roman said "Save Jonathan." I said. "Your queen has come home, my love." LaKeisha said. Dean walked over to her. His smile was evident. His arms snaked around her waist. "I have waited for this moment for a long time." Dean said. "You never had to, Jonathan." I heard LaKeisha say. She knows about Jonathan. That's good. That's gonna save me and the rest of the human race. I watched her kissed his lips passionately. He pulled away from her and looked into her eyes. "How..." Dean started to say. "It matters not now." LaKeisha said. I looked at LaKeisha and walked over. A plan was in order, and I knew she had one. I knew her well enough to know she had a plan. I just prayed she shared it with me. For now, I will play the role. "Well, it looks like I have a wedding to plan." I said. LaKeisha looked at me. It was time to save the world and myself. 8/20/2015 0 Comments Chapter 4- BloodlinesLaKeisha's POV:
The door opened, and my mom, Amanda, was a sight for sore eyes. She pulled me into a hug. Apparently Maggie called her to say we were coming after I got out of the hospital. "Baby, come in. I am so glad to have you home. Maggie, I'm so glad to see you as well." My mother said. "Ms. Amanda, we're happy to see you. It's been a rough two days." Maggie said as she walked in behind me. "Well you girls have a seat in the sitting room. I know you must be tired." My mother said. "Thanks." I said as I sat down. "Michelle, are you OK? You seem pale." My mother asked. "Mama, I'm fine. Just a little tired." I said. "Michelle, you should go upstairs and get some rest. I had the finest linens made on your bed." My mother said. "Mama, I'm not going to be here long. I need to know about my father." I said. "Your father is dead. What more do you want to know? He abandoned us." My mother said. "Ms. Amanda, there's something we need to know about LaKeisha's dad." Maggie said. "That name should never be spoken in this house! Your father gave you that name." My mom said, angrily. "Why, Mama? Why do you hate my father so much? I understand he left us, but he's dead. What is it about him that you're not telling me?" I asked. "You wouldn't understand, Michelle. I almost lost my soul to him." My mother said. "Try me. I need to know. My life depends on it." I said. My mother looked at me as if she had seen a ghost. "Oh no. He found you." My mother said. "Who found me? Mama, who found me?" I asked. "Your father. He found you." My mother said. "Wait. What?" Maggie asked, confused. "Michelle, your father is not dead. He is..." My mother spoke "A vampire." I said. "How do you know?" My mother asked. "Because I have a crazed and deranged vampire named Dean Ambrose..." I started to say. "Dean Ambrose? He's your father's right hand." My mother said. "Wait. You know Dean Ambrose?" I asked. "Yes. I was there when he was chosen as your mate. Your father chose Dean because he's the most powerful vampire he sired. You are just as powerful, if not more powerful. as your grandmother, Melanie Delacroix. You will know her by her fictional name, Akasha." My mother said. "Wait, there really is a Queen Akasha?" I asked. "Yes. You are her descendant. She knew that having you, vampire and human would live side by side. Your father wants to enslave the human race. I didn't want you to be used as an instrument of evil. So I took you away to New Orleans." "Well, she's not an instrument of evil. Dean will not turn my best friend into a vampire. She's good and what's right in the world, and I will make sure that nothing will happen to her." Maggie said. "I need to see my father." I said. "No, it's too dangerous. Your father will do everything in his power to make you embrace your vampire side." My mother said. "I trust myself. He will not change me, but I need to do this. I hope you understand." I said. "I understand." My mother said. I got up and looked at my mom. "Mama, I understand why you did it. You raised me to be a one of a kind woman and to love all. So you did the right thing. No matter what happens, know that I love you." I said. I kissed my mother and walked outside the house. I looked at Maggie. She looked as if she was ready for blood and war. I felt that she really wanted to protect me, but somehow I knew that Dean wouldn't hurt me. Somehow I knew he would protect me, but I know he has a dark side. Right now, Dean didn't matter. My father did. "Well, well. I hope you have had a lovely time with your mother. I know it'll be your last." A familiar voice said. "Seth, you just don't know when to quit, do you?" Maggie asked. "Oh, I do. The only problem is that you make it too easy for me. Maggie, you don't understand our world, and in our world, you're just food. A necessity. LaKeisha? She's Dean soulmate. You can not come between that." Seth said. "Look Seth, just stay away from me. I need time. Right now, I need to find my father." I said. "I know. That's why I'm here. To take you to him. You need to see everything." Seth said. "So you understand?" I asked. "Yes, I do. LaKeisha, I'm not like Dean. He's the master of Las Vegas for a reason. He can be deadly. I have seen him when he's after a kill. I'm a survivor, and in order to survive, I had to align myself with Dean. I won't hurt you or your little friend here. I will deliver you safe and sound." Seth said. "OK, Seth, but if you do anything crazy, I will put a stake so far into your heart, you'll feel it in the afterlife." Maggie said. "Deal." Seth said. I looked at Maggie. We were about to enter a world that we've never seen. One that is dangerous and deadly. I walked towards the black SUV that was waiting and got in. My future was about to change. Julien's House Outside of New Orleans Julien Delacroix sat in his parlor. He looked over at Dean, who was seething over the fact that he couldn't be with his love. Julien shook his head. His translucent brown eyes glowed. He knew exactly what Dean was feeling. It was all too familiar. "Dean, you mustn't worry. She will come around. She just need time. She never knew of you or this world till a couple days ago. You can't rush her." Julien said. "I don't want to rush her, but I have waited way too long for her. For years, I have watched her. Seeing the lovers she would take. I wanted to be by her side, but I couldn't. Now, I finally have what I always wanted. Yet, I am denied." Dean said. "You're not being denied. She will come to you. She will be your queen. She will take her rightful place..." Julien was saying as he was interrupted. "She's here." A beautiful blond vampire said. "Thank you, Renee." Julien said. I walked into the lion's den. They all looked at me. Maggie looked at me. I could tell she was nervous. I was nervous, too, but not dumb. Maggie was my best friend. I wasn't going to let any vampire kill her. Not even Seth. We walked through a door to a parlor where standing before me was my father, Julien Delacroix. Dean was sitting, a blond lounging next to him. She was definitely Dean's playmate. She looked at me as if I was the enemy. Dean's eyes were fixated on me. "My daughter! Welcome to my home!" Julien said. "Um yeah. Thanks." I said. "Ooo, she brings gifts." The blond said looking at Maggie. "She is not a gift, and you touch her, I will reduce you to dust." I said. "Renee, if you don't mind. Dean, my daughter, and I have a lot to talk about." Julien said. "OK. I guess I can wait." Renee said, walking out. "You know, for a master of a city, you sure know how to pick them." Maggie said. "Yes, his taste in women is palatable at best." Julien said. "My love. I have missed you." Dean said. I had to look away, or I would be surrendering my will to him. Wait. How did I know that? I know it because I am a vampire. No, I'm human. I cannot be apart of this world. "I know you have a lot of questions. Some that have reasons. Some that don't. Please understand that the answers you seek will help you embrace who you are." Julien said. "What? A monster? If you haven't noticed, my world has been turned upside down. To even know that vampires exist is one thing, but to find out that I am a harbinger of death, it doesn't feel right with me." I said. "Harbinger of death? Your mother has filled your head with lies." Julien said. "Really? My mother raised me with compassion and love. She raised me to be human. I will not turn my back on my humanity. Not today. Not ever." I said. "You can not deny who you are, LaKeisha." Dean said. "I can't? Watch me. Maggie, let's go." I said. I began to walk out of the door when Dean suddenly grabbed Maggie and wrapped his hand around her neck. "Walk out that door, LaKeisha, and Maggie becomes my new playmate." Dean said. "No, please! Let her go!" I said with panic in my voice. I watched Maggie struggle against Dean. The fear was alive in her eyes. I closed my eyes. I could feel my vampiric strength come to me. I could be by Maggie's side in one swift motion and free her from Dean. Suddenly the room began to spin, and I felt a presence beside me. "You OK, sister?" I heard the voice say. I looked over to see Roman stand beside me. "Roman?" I asked. "No time to talk. As soon as I free Maggie, you two run out of here as fast as you can. There's a car waiting outside for you two. Go as far away as you can. I will find you. I promise." Roman said. Suddenly everything was in slow motion. I looked and saw my best friend's life drain from her body and see her drinking from Dean. Roman grabbed her and ran out with her, with me close behind. Roman got her in the car, and I looked at him. "Go!" Roman said. I sped off. Maggie was dying before me. I got us back to the hotel. I grabbed Maggie and got us into our room. I laid her down on the bed. Tears began to flow. I didn't know what to do. Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. "She's dying, Roman, and I can't stop it." I said, tearfully. "I know, but it's a mortal death. Soon she will wake up a vampire. Her hunger will be intense. She will be just as deadly as Dean, but I will help you try and control her." Roman said. "Why are you helping me?" I asked. "I'm protecting you. You're my sister. Half-sister, actually. Dean is gonna stop at nothing to get what he wants. Julien asked me to watch over you, and I am fulfilling my promise to him." "So are you..." I started to ask. "I'm a vampire. My mother was one as well. Julien is my father. My real name is Joseph Leati Delacroix." Roman said. "What now, Roman? I can't run from Dean forever." I said. "No, you can't, but you need to be stronger than you've ever been. I know Dean. I know he loves you, but you have to be willing to embrace who you are. I'm not interested in changing you. You are human. You were raised to be human. Whatever you decide, I will be there for you. Just promise me you won't lose your humanity for the sake of Dean. Stay true to you." Roman said. "Listen to him, LaKeisha. Because death is coming, and you may not be able to stop it. You're humanity's last hope." Maggie said as she arose. I looked at Maggie. Her hair was fiery red and her fangs were well pronounced. She got up as if someone was calling her. "He's calling me, and I must go to him. He won't rest till you're with him, Keisha. I won't rest till you're queen." Maggie said before she disappeared. Now what? 8/20/2015 0 Comments Chapter 3- Secrets And LiesLaKeisha's POV:
I had never seen Maggie so determined to get us out of Las Vegas. After being discharged from the hospital, I was happy to get back to the hotel. Our time was limited, but I knew the sooner we got out of Las Vegas, the better we would be. "Hey, I got to meet with Paul and tell him what happened with you." Maggie said. "Yeah, please tell him that I encountered a vampire, and I have to go on the run." I said, sarcastically. "You're funny. I'm not telling him that. I am going to say you're severely anemic, and you need a few days rest." Maggie said. "Are we all set for New Orleans?" I asked. "Yeah. We leave first thing in the morning. I can't trust Roman, but I think he really wants to help you. Vampire or not." Maggie said. "It's not Roman I worry about. It's Dean. You didn't see what I saw." I said. I began to tremble. Flashbacks of what Dean had put me through. He drank from me. My blood stained his lips. I was in a nightmare, and I wondered if I was gonna ever return. Maggie wrapped her arms around me. She saw the fear in my eyes. "I promise you that Dean will never get to you again. Not while I'm around. OK? Now, I gotta meet Paul. Get some rest." Maggie said as she hugged me. I watched as she walked out of the room. Maybe I could close my eyes and finally get that sleep I needed. Roman arrived at Dean's, who was waiting on him. Dean was furious. How could Roman stop him from finally claiming his queen? Roman saw the look in Dean's eyes as he walked in. "Roman! What the hell did you do? She was close. I could feel her." Dean said angrily. "What any brother would do for his sister, protect her at all costs." Roman said. "What? Sister?" Seth said. "Yes, LaKeisha is my half-sister. Her father is my father." Roman said. "Why didn't you tell us?" Dean asked. "My command from my father was simple, make sure that she's safe. You crossed a line, Dean. She could've died." Roman said, angrily. "She's stronger than you think, Roman. You have underestimated her." Dean said. "No, I didn't underestimate my sister. She is strong. I saw the way she pulled Maggie away from me. I could have easily killed Maggie. She was under my spell, but LaKeisha pulled her away with her voice. Her powers are growing, Dean." Roman said. "I know. She is strong, Roman. I felt her strength when she was under my spell." Dean said. "What about Maggie? Is she a threat?" Seth asked. "What do you think, Seth? She's LaKeisha's best friend. She will be a threat." Roman said. "Not if I have anything to do with it. Maggie will be the one who brings my queen to me." Dean said. "Dean..." Roman started to say. "Understand, Roman. LaKeisha will not get away from me. Your father, my sire chose her as my mate, and I will claim her. Now if you will excuse me, I must prepare for her." Dean said. Roman watched Dean walk away. His sister's humanity was at stake, and he hoped that she didn't lose it. I must have been sleep for hours. Maggie had yet to return, and I lay here in the dark. I wished I could go back to my safe and warm room back in New Orleans. I suddenly wanted my life back. I wanted my normal human life back. "It's a life you can never get back." I heard a familiar voice say. Dean. He was here. I sat up in my bed and got up. I turned on my light and faced the man who almost killed me. "Why are you here, Dean?" I asked. "I know of your plans. You can't run from me, LaKeisha. I will find you." Dean said. "You stay away from me! I mean it, Dean!" I said, angrily. "My love, I told you. You don't have to be afraid of me. I promise to never hurt you." Dean said. "Dean, I almost died." I said. "Yet, you didn't. Now, you're running from me. Why?" Dean said. "Because I need to know everything. This is my life, and no one controls my life. Not even you." I said. "That's where you are wrong, darlin'. I am in control. You will be mine, LaKeisha. You will be my queen." Dean said. I suddenly felt my teeth get longer. My body felt stronger. I looked at Dean spoke. "Decanus Ambrosius recedemus!" Suddenly Dean hissed at me and spoke to me in ancient Latin. "Te non potero, in saecula. Ego te inveniat. Te fore." Suddenly the door flew open, and Seth Rollins was standing before me. I grabbed him and threw him across the hall. "Dean, you will not control me!" I said. "Seth, take her!" Dean said. "With pleasure." Seth said as he got up. I didn't know if I could muster up my strength again. I tried, but I am only half-vampire. Maggie arrived as Seth grabbed me. "Maggie!" I yelled. "Let her go, or I promise you that you won't see the next Wrestlemania." Maggie said. "Maggie! Maggie! Maggie! I think you don't have much of an advantage. You're just a mere human. Food, if you must know. I can snap your neck without thinking. Do you really want to challenge me?" Dean said, walking towards Maggie. "I don't think. I know. Let her go." Maggie said. I felt Seth's grip around my neck tightening. My head began to swim. I needed to find my strength. Maggie was in a confrontation with Dean, and I needed to get us out of here. Suddenly, I saw Roman walk in behind Maggie. "This is not the time, Dean." Roman said. "She's running from me!" Dean said. "She needs to know. She needs answers. Let her go!" "Maybe we should take Mags here." Seth said. "Touch me, and you won't live to see another 100 years." Maggie said. "Maggie, I will let her go for now, but I will be back for her." Dean said. "You won't get lucky next time, Dean." Maggie said. Dean laughed. "We shall see." Seth's hands left my neck, and he and Dean were gone. I collapsed on the floor. Maggie rushed over to me. "LaKeisha, you OK?" Maggie asked. "Yeah. What the hell were you gonna do, Maggie? Dean could've killed you." I said. "I would've figured something out. You think I would let him take you?" Maggie said. "Maggie, Dean would've killed you. You can't play this game with him." Roman said. "Why are you here? Haven't you done enough?" Maggie said. "Maggie, I want to protect LaKeisha as much as you want to. She's gonna need us. Dean is powerful. She's powerful as well, but she needs answers. Get to New Orleans. I will buy you some time." Roman said. Dean watched as Roman and Maggie helped me up. Seth was seething. He wanted Dean to give him the OK to kill Maggie. "She should have been dead. Drained lifeless. Why would you let her live?" Seth said. "Because Maggie is the key to bring her to me. If I turned Maggie, then she will have no choice to follow her. She will not let Maggie be alone, and Maggie will be my enforcer. She will protect my Queen. I have big plans, Seth. Right now, she needs her answers." Dean said as he turned to walk away. I felt my head bob as I had nodded off. Dammit, Maggie, wake up. I didn't want to be asleep when LaKeisha woke up. The doctor said it would be anytime now. She scared the shit out of me, and I didn't know what to do.
I tried to keep everything on the down low. I didn't want everyone knowing what happened because even I didn't know the explanation. I was so confused! One minute we were having a great time, and the next minute LaKeisha was on the floor, totally out of it. Her skin had paled and there were teeny, tiny rash-like pinholes on her neck and wrists. There was no way of knowing what it happened. The doctors questioned me for much of the night, but in the end they had found that she had some severe anemia. That didn't explain the rash, but some fluids and a pint of blood apparently seem to help. I was still not convinced LaKeisha was ok, and since she was my only family, I was shaken by the whole thing. There was a knock on the door, and Roman Reigns came in. I tried to straighten up, but the chair had made my shoulder stiff. "Hey Maggie." Roman said, as he came in. "Hi Roman." I said, as he sat down next to me. "How she doing?" He asked. "She should wake up anytime now, but they don't know why she's asleep like this. It's almost like a coma, but she dreams, and I hear her talking. Maybe her body went to shock or something. I don't know. I'm so tired and I'm so confused. I'm a little scared." I said "I know you to care a lot about each other." He said. "She's my best friend. She's like my sister. If anything ever happened to her, I would lose it." I said, tearfully. "I don't have a lot of time, but I think I can help to bring LaKeisha around." He said flatly. I stared at him puzzled, "What are you talking about?" "It's a long story, but she should probably know about it too." Roman said, as he got up. I watched as he went over to her and touched her hand. Kneeling down, he almost seemed to be whispering something, but I also heard a deep, guttural growl. I saw LaKeisha come to. It was almost like he had breathed life into her. I felt my mouth fall open. "Where am I?" LaKeisha asked. I moved quickly to her side. "You're in the hospital." I told her as I gave Roman an angry look. She tried to sit up. "Why do I feel like I got hit by a Mack truck?" She asked. "It's the after effects of what he did to you." Roman said. I came around the bed to stand in front of him. He was taller and definitely stronger than me, but I didn't care and I wasn't afraid. "What the hell is going on?" I snapped at him. LaKeisha was looking at us wide eyed. "You better back up, Mag. There is a lot of restraint in me right now, but not enough to keep me tearing into you." I saw a flash of teeth as his eyes met mine. I felt pulled suddenly, almost falling into his opalescent blue eyes. It was like feeling drunk and heady. I was feeling heat as well, but I was pulled back when I felt LaKeisha's hand on my arm. "Maggie." She said softly, and I looked at her as if I just walked out of a fog. Roman turned to her. "Dean was right. There is a tremendous power in you." He said. "Am I still dreaming?" LaKeisha said. "What just happened?" I asked. I sat down in a chair and looked at Roman. The man looked strangely different now. "LaKeisha, you know what I am?" He asked. "Vampire. I don't know how I know, but I know that's what you are." She said. "What the fuck? Vampires? This is bull shit." I said full of denial. I turned to LaKeisha and then Roman, but I had felt something unexplainable. "Yes, LaKeisha." Roman said like I didn't exist. "Dean." She seemed to tremble. "He is the master of the city here in Vegas." Roman told her matter-of-factly. LaKeisha took my hand and squeezed it. The fear evident in her brown eyes. "My dreams, they are real." She said to me. I put my arm around her. "What is happening?" I looked to Roman for answers. "LaKeisha is the decendent of Melanie Delacroix. She is half human, and full of untapped power. Dean knows this, and he wants her, body and soul." Roman said. "I don't believe it." LaKeisha said. "Believe what you want. The truth is the truth. I am merely a messenger for you." Said Roman. "Well, take a message back then," I said. "Be careful, Maggie." Roman warned. "Fuck you, Roman," I was furious."You, Dean, and Seth stay away from us. I am not afraid if you. I don't give a damn what you are." I said, angrily. "You don't know what you are saying." He said. "Yeah, I do. I'm saying that if you are Vamps, you best hope I don't find where you sleep." I said. He hissed at me and then spun around so fast, in a blink, he was gone. "LaKeisha, we got to get out of here." I said. "Yeah, and I have questions. I need to see my mother." She said. "You don't believe all this do you?" I asked. "How can we not believe it? Look at what just happened. And my dreams..." Her voice trailed off. "Fine. You get dressed. I'll get us plane tickets." I grabbed my smartphone. "You don't have to go with me." LaKeisha said. "No, but I am not sitting around waiting to see you get all caught up in some psyco crazy vampire bullshit either. Would you stay behind?" I asked. "You really are my sister." LaKeisha said. "From a different Mister." I winked as I started looking for flights to New Orleans. 6/21/2015 0 Comments IntroductionThis is our first collaboration, and we hope you enjoy it.
