I opened my eyes to see my phone lit up like a Christmas tree. It seems like my Aunt Gina has called me. I wonder what she wants? I hope everything is OK with my Uncle Patrick. I eased out of Jonathan's arms and got out of bed. I grabbed my phone and hit the redial button to call my aunt back. A feeling of dread loomed over me. This wasn't good. "Hello?" A voice answered. It was my cousin, Andrea. Why would she be answering Aunt Gina's phone? "Andrea, it's LaKeisha. Is Aunt Gina OK?" I said. "Oh God, Keisha! You need to come home. Something's happened to your mom." Andrea said. "Wait. What's happened to Mama? Andrea, what's going on?" I asked, frantically. Suddenly, my Aunt Gina tearfully spoke. "She's dead, LaKeisha. Someone killed your mother." She said. I dropped the phone and screamed. Jonathan came to my side and looked at me. Roman and Maggie came into the room. My crying was uncontrollable. No one understood why I was crying. Maggie grabbed the phone and spoke to my Aunt. The anger on her face was apparent. "Someone killed LaKeisha's mother last night." Maggie said. "Who?" Roman asked. "They don't know." Maggie said. "Sis, I'm so sorry. I promise you that who ever did this will pay dearly. You don't mess with family." Roman said as he held me close. I looked at Jonathan, but he was no longer there. Dean had returned, and his face was unreadable. Could he be behind the death of my mother? My only tie to my humanity? "Dean? What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing, love. I just have an uneasy feeling about this. Right now, you need to be with family. Your human family. Maggie, Roman, and I will be there for you as well. I love you, LaKeisha. I promise you that no one will hurt you ever again." Dean said as he caressed my face. One Week Later I sat in my room at my mom's house, numb. Today we buried my mom. Every memory of her I had flooded my brain. I know I shouldn't be left alone, but I needed the silence. My mom was my life. She was my everything. All my success was because she believed in me, and now she's gone. My world was gone. How can I live without her? Maggie's POV: I knew that LaKeisha was hurting, and I wanted to take away her pain. I arrived at Amanda's house hoping that LaKeisha will let me in and let me comfort her. Right now, I wasn't Maggie, the vixen vampire. I was Maggie, bestie and sister of LaKeisha. As I walked up the walkway, a familiar scent hit my nose. Oh my god! It can't be. Seth? I arrived back to the house. I needed to see Seth, but he wasn't nowhere around. I hoped he had nothing to do with Amanda's death. I walked back to my car. I really needed to see LaKeisha. Suddenly, I turned to see Seth standing before me. "So you figured it out." Seth said. "Figured what out?" I asked. "That it was me who killed Amanda." Seth said. "What? You did what?" I asked angrily. "Oh, come on, Maggie! It was inevitable. Amanda was just a meal for me." Seth said. "A meal? A fucking meal? She was LaKeisha's mother. Not a meal." I said. "You don't understand, Maggie. LaKeisha is our queen. Dean will be her king. She is a vampire. Her humanity would have killed us all. Do you truly think that humans and vampires could co-exist together?" Seth said. I felt my anger reach a boiling point. Without warning, I wrapped my hand around Seth's neck. "Did you think I would let you live to see another sunset?" I asked. "Maggie, you kill me, and Dean will never forgive you." Seth said. "Do you really think I care?" I said. LaKeisha's POV: How much Jack Daniels can one girl drink? Enough to be completely and totally numb. OK, maybe I shouldn't drink. Maybe I should be with Dean. Maybe I should embrace who I am, a vampire. Maybe I should let go of my humanity and just be what my father wants me to be, a killer. I mean, I have no one except Roman, Maggie, and Dean. Oh yeah, I forgot Seth. How could I forget Seth? The reason why my sister is a vampire. Maybe the reason why my mother is dead. "WHY DON'T YOU KILL ME?" I screamed. Suddenly, I felt his presence in the room. I knew Dean anywhere. "LaKeisha, you know you shouldn't be alone. You're too vulnerable." Dean said. "Vulnerable? Ha! I've been vulnerable since I met you, Dean Ambrose." I said in my drunken stupor. "LaKeisha, how much have you had?" Dean asked. "Not enough apparently. Not enough to forget you, Roman, and Seth exist. Not enough to forget my own father. Not enough to wish my best friend back as a human or to have my mother here! There isn't enough Jack Daniels in the world, Dean to give me what I want." I said. "What do you want?" Dean asked. "My fucking life back! That's what I want! I want normalcy. I need it. I crave it. Damn it, Dean! Vampires were not on my to-do list. Yet, here I am, and there you are." I said. "LaKeisha, you were never normal. You are not a normal person, but this is your life." Dean said. "This is not my life. My life is lying in a cemetery. Lifeless, cold, and dead. This? This is not my life." I said. Dean took a step towards me. I knew he wanted to hold me, but I didn't want to be held. I didn't know what I wanted. "Just stay away from me, Dean. Please." I said. "I can't do that, LaKeisha. You are in no shape to be alone." Dean said. "Then make yourself useful. Turn me." I said. "What?" Dean said. "Turn me. Isn't that what you want?" I said. "No, it's not what I want. I don't want to turn you. I want you to live. I want you here, alive and human." I said. "Oh come on, Dean! It's what you wanted in the beginning. It's what my father wanted. He wanted you to turn me. He couldn't stand that fact that he had a half-human daughter, but you know what? I was perfectly fine. Now? Not so much. So do us all a favor, Dean. Make me a vampire and make my father happy." I said. "No, LaKeisha. I will not. I will not be forced to do something that you are truly not ready for. Not tonight. Not ever. Right now, what I want is to hold you and never let you go. I want you to cry and scream till you just can't anymore. Then, I want you to fight. I want you to fight with everything that is in you. Because we are going to find out why your mother died. We are going to find the people that did this, and they will pay. I promise you. Do you hear me? They will pay." Dean said. Dean wrapped his arms around me, and I collapsed. I cried. I screamed. I even begged, but I knew nothing was going to bring my mother back no matter what I did. The anger rose like a tidal wave, but for now, I need to just cry and be here in the arms of the man who loves me. Roman's POV: Vampires are creatures of habit. That's something I know all too well. I know of the rage and anger a vampire feels when one has been betrayed. This was no different. "You don't understand, Roman. Julien asked me to kill Amanda to bring LaKeisha to us. Julien thought it was only way to turn her into a vampire." Seth said. "Julien was wrong. Seth, you made a grievous mistake, and I promise you that you will answer for it. Yet, it won't be by my hands or Maggie's. I will let my sister decide your fate. Because I promise you that you will pay for what you did." I said. "That's where you're wrong. Because I know that right now as we speak, Dean is with your precious sister, and he's probably turning her now." Seth said, evily. "Yes, Dean is with my sister, but he's not doing my father's bidding. LaKeisha is still human, and Dean will not turn her. He loves her too much. He rather have her as human than vampire." I said. "No! Dean would never betray Julien." Seth said. "Now, that's where you're wrong, Sethie. Dean has betrayed Julien, or should I say Jonathan has betrayed Julien." Maggie said. "He wouldn't." Seth said. "Look, Seth. I know why you did what you did, but you realize that you may have signed your death warrant. Dean's not very forgiving, and you know that. Did you forget what happened to Cesaro?" I said. "I haven't forgotten. Thankfully Julien stopped Dean from taking his life. Look, I understand that you're upset with me, but I had no choice. Julien threatned to kill everyone I love. You, Dean, and Maggie. I did what I had to do." Seth said. "And what did you have to do?" LaKeisha said as she walked in with Dean. "Tell her, Seth. Tell her that you're responsible for the death of her mother." I said. LaKeisha's POV The words didn't register. Seth was responsible for my mother's death. I watched Dean as he made his way over to Seth. The fear was evident in his eyes, but Seth was resigned to his fate. He knew Dean was gonna kill him, but I didn't want that. There had been enough death already. “Why did you do it? Why did you kill my mother?” I asked, angrily. “Because I was asked to by your father.” Seth said. “Ah! So my father asked you to murder the one person in my life who means everything to me for what? To make me a full-fledged vamp? Wow! Seth, do you realize what you have done?” I said. “Yes, I realize what I have done, and I will accept my fate however you choose for me to die.” Seth said. "Just give me the word, LaKeisha, and I will gladly end his life." Dean said, angrily. "No, he has suffered enough. His actions were justified. My father threatned him. He threatned you, Roman, and Maggie. Seth's not the problem. My father is the problem, and we must deal with him. There's been enough death among us. I can't deal with that now. For now, Seth lives to see another sunset." I said. "Sis, you sure?" Roman asked. "Yes, I am. I have never been so sure of anything in my life." I said. I walked out of the room and took a deep breath. Seth killed my mom, and he lived to tell about it. Yet, it wasn't his fault. It was my father's. I slowly crept out of the house and walked in the direction I needed to go. I arrived at the manor that my father was staying. The vampires that stood watch let me in. I walked towards the parlor and found my father sitting at his desk. "Hello Julien." I said. Tonight, my father dies.
